Boy's Nautical Room

This was a really fun room to decorate. I promised a while back to post some pictures of the nautical themed room and I have finally gotten around to taking the pictures.
We shopped mostly garage sales, auctions and flea-markets. Amazingly enough we found plenty of nautical themed stuff . Hope you're ready for lots of pictures.

The bed was purchased at an auction by my brother-in-law and it's perfect for this room.

Here are the nautical wall decor that we painted. Click here if you missed the post on how Emily painted the plywood circles.

Don't you just love the lantern and curtains?

We bought the wheel, shelf, anchors and picture from Hobby Lobby.

I found this table at an auction and painted it white, distressed it and added the rope for an accent.

Here's what it looked like before.

Emily spotted this cubby at a yard sale.We added some barn wood to the top and rubbed  stain over the white paint to give it more character. The shelf is an ammunition crate we found at an antique shop and painted white. If you want to see the one I have hanging in my kitchen click  here. This one had a lid and we made a shelf in the girls room from that too. We'll be doing a post of that room soon.
Here's a chair I re-did for this room.

            Before                                               After

I found this chair at an auction and wish I had taken a picture before I stripped it of all the fabric. The only thing that comes to mind on how to describe it is hideous. The seat had totally given in and it even had a ruffle at the bottom. The only reason I bought it was because I could only see the top of it when I bid and thought it was another chair. I love how it turned out and it's supper comfy to sit on!

Did you notice the cool fan? It goes so well with the theme in this room! Now if it could only stay this clean!

  2. I love this - boys rooms are so hard and I think you've got a great balance. Love the bedside with the spot for a book at the front! Visiting from Domestically Speaking :)
