DIY Girls Headboard

Happy New Year everyone! I'm so excited to show you the headboard I made for our girl's room. I had been looking everywhere for a headboard. I looked on Craigslist, resale shops, and Goodwill. Nothing anywhere. So then I started to think about using the foot board I had already turned into a chalkboard.

Our First Craft Fair

We've been busy getting ready for our first craft fair these last weeks. It was a lot of work but the girls had fun. We first set up everything in our garage so setting up for the first time went smoothly.

If you read my last post you might remember that I said I made a bench from dinning room chairs.I wonder if you were a little confused ? Well today I want to show you what I made using six really ugly chairs. I'll show you the after, so I don't scare you away with the Before. Here's one of the benches.

DIY Pallet Wood Shelves

Wow I can't believe how this summer has flown by! If anyone noticed I did not post once, I have been supper busy with my kids being home and lots of projects going on. I think with the kids starting school I might be able to start blogging again. I hope to post at least once a week.
I want to show you one project I did this summer and has been in the back of my mind for a while. Every time I walked into the laundry room I would think "I need to do something with that space. So I decided on some shelves to tie the cabinets together. I have lots of pallet wood around so that was what I decided to use.

Making a Pallet Wood Sign

I guess spring is on it's way! There have been huge flocks of robins everywhere. I have never seen so many in my life. The other day I noticed that some of our little daffodils have bloomed. Everything will soon be GREEN! Spring  is such a beautiful time of the year!

I know it's been a little while since you guys asked us to make a tutorial on how to make a pallet wood sign. I've finally got around to it! With family, and other activities keeping us busy, we've gotten ourselves motivated again and got working on the tutorial.

DIY Sewing Table Repurpose

I was driving through town the other day when I spotted a table next to a dumpster. When I go to pick it up a man came out and asked if he could help me load it. Thank goodness he did, because I don't think I could have lifted this table into my truck. It weighed a ton!  When I got home, I got a screw driver and took the sewing machine out first.

Pallet Wood Sign Ideas

Lately, I've been making different pallet wood signs and chalkboards for the craft show I entered. It seems like I've already made a lot of signs, but I have a long way to go still. Just wanted to share a bit of what I have up until now.

DIY Pallet Wood Shelf

Today I want to show you how we made a pallet wood shelf. I like it because it serves more than one purpose. We use it as a shelf in an entertainment center and also as a prop for taking pictures on for my Etsy shop. One other reason I like it, is it's almost free! The only supplies you need for this project are screws and stain or paint. You could even leave it the natural color.

DIY Bookshelf Upcycle

While we were cleaning up/organizing our storage rooms in our basement, we found an old shelf that was in pieces. We have been up cycling the shelf and it is now featured in my sister's room. It was a cheap laminate board thing that was wobbly and good for nothing, really. So to strengthen it we used some, you guessed it, pallet wood.

Pallet Wood Doll Bed

For Christmas, we made a pallet wood doll bed for my little sisters. they love playing with baby dolls, our kitchen set complete with plastic food and appliances. The only thing they didn't have was a doll bed. We saw a bed at Wal-Mart, but it was cheap, plastic, and hot pink. So, the great doll bed conspiracy was born. Actually, the bed and blankets, pillows, and mattress were made while the girls were standing right there... but they didn't catch on about what it was or what it's for, probably because we are always working on something. Hence, the bed is still a surprise.

I don't have step by step instructions for how to make the bed because that is really up to you. But I can show you what ours turned out like and tell you what we did.

Dining Room Decor

As I stated in my last post, we have a lot of past projects and no documentation of any sort to show how we did any of it. So I'll just have to show you the "after" and explain.

The first thing I'll show you is the dining room. We have about three projects that went on in there.
One is an old table that someone left on the side of the road. Really banged up, and oh did I mention it's made up of random parts? It used to be dark and kind of reddish. So I won't keep you waiting any longer. Here She is....TA DA!
